The number of grants awarded and monetary amount of the awards presented each year are determined by the total amount of the funds available that year. Unlike a scholarship which is presented directly to the educational institution that the student will be attending with the institution deciding to what purpose the scholarship money is to be used, a grant is given directly to the student with the student deciding the
grant’s purpose.
